Why am I worried about Bird Flu?

I do not really know , but the fact is that I am worried, but not because of the possible pandemic What worries me most is the lack of any plan to stop the spread of the illness if it gets to come to Europe , mainly to Spain.

Last wednesday I had to visit two people in two different hospitals in Valladolid. One belonged to the National Health Service and the other one was private. None of them gave me the impression of being prepared to deal with a difficult situation.

The firts one was overcrowded . It did not seem to be a hospital , the rooms were crowded , only two ill people in each room, but at least two or three more visiting each one at the same time. There is no real timetible for attending the visitors, they can enter any room at any time of the day or night. How can it be possible? The corridors were full with people going in and out of the rooms,... I thought at hospitals it was very important to keep silence and to avoid germs from visitors mainly after having suffered from a severe illness or an operation.

Who is to blame??
I know the answer and you? But how can this help the poor people suffering? Some should do something.
In Spain we have the best doctors, one of the best NHS in the world but we have no education at all about possible hazards , real hazards and how to prevent them. Our hospitals are in very old buildings, most of them were built during in the second half of the 20th century and they have not been updated or modernized at all.

When I saw this , I inmediately began to ask myself how could doctors handle an emergency situation in such poor conditions.

Can you anderstand why I am so worried about the possible outbreak of the Bird Flu in my country?
