ROBERT BURNS

A Red, Red Rose

[Hear Red, Red Rose]
1794Type: Poem

O my Luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
O my Luve's like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile!

WILLIAM WORDSWORTH

William Wordsworth (1770-1850), British poet, credited with ushering in the English Romantic Movement with the publication of Lyrical Ballads(1798) in collaboration with Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

"I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD"

I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay: 10
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood, 20
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

1804.

This is one of my favourite poems. I find it just magic.Whenever I read it I experience an enormeous mixture of marvellous feelings, I can feel the soft breeze, I can smell the water, I can experience a good sensation as if I were taking part in that walk with them. It is something difficult to explain but there some times in my life , there are some times during the year when I need to read it. And this is one of those times so I have searched the net because I remembered the first time I had the chance to visit the most wonderful web page about Wordsworth and thanks goodness I have found it, so now I can keep it in my blog and share it with all of you ,poetry lovers.

Tough girls give birth to boys. Incredible?

I am a tough girl!
I am the mother of two boys !
According to timesonline " TOUGH, confident females may be more likely to give birth to sons than women with less pushy personalities, researchers have found." http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,176-2070169,00.html
I like this explanation very much indeed, perhaps it is not true but it is very good all the same, because though you were not tough enough, after bringing up boys you certainly are much tougher than you could have ever imagined . Many times you are at a lost asking yourself were has the girl in you gone , you miss her, oh my God how much you can miss her...!
But the truth is that the most of times you feel great , the authentic Queen in the house, the make you feel that way, so Congratulations and Good luck, boys are loveble , and I can tell you a secret : they will always be the best admirers you could ever dream of.
Love them and feel proud of being a mother of boys . They are a blessing to the world .
